Measure More, Miss Less (MMML) is a national initiative aimed at improving the detection of elevated blood pressure and increasing awareness of cardiovascular risk across Canada. Building on the success of the global May Measurement Month campaign, this program promotes accessible blood pressure screening in community settings to help identify individuals with undiagnosed or uncontrolled hypertension.
Through partnerships with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and screening programs across the country, Measure More, Miss Less seeks to expand opportunities for Canadians to have their blood pressure measured and to connect individuals with appropriate follow-up care when needed.
Raising awareness about blood pressure measurement is critical to identifying individuals at risk before complications occur. By encouraging routine checks in both clinical and community settings, we can detect hypertension earlier and improve long-term cardiovascular outcomes.
Early identification of individuals with undiagnosed hypertension is key to preventing serious cardiovascular events. Through accessible, community-based screening, we can uncover hidden risk and connect individuals to timely care and management.
Encouraging timely follow-up ensures that elevated blood pressure readings are properly assessed and managed. Ongoing engagement with healthcare providers supports sustained control, reduces risk, and improves long-term cardiovascular health outcomes.
Collecting and sharing data from community screenings helps generate real-world evidence to inform hypertension prevention and management strategies. These insights support research, guide policy, and strengthen efforts to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease.
